Guidelines for Developing a Successful Online Director’s Forum for Museum Leaders

 

The presentation is launched as an outcome of the ICOM Solidarity Project Effective Museum Leadership in Mitigating Risks in Conflict and Crisis. It was created by TyPA Foundation, ICOM SEE, INTERCOM, ICOM ICOM Arab, ICOM Tanzania and ICOM Zambia.

Designing socially purposeful spaces

 

In order to promote the activation of ideas around their heritage, museums need to have a dynamic and welcoming space. Organized by Fundaciones Grupo Petersen in alliance with Fundación TyPA, Museums Factory was a training program that sought to effectively and sustainably link museums with the communities that share their mission through the design of a communal space.

2020 Online Edition

 

During 2020, the TyPA Lab on Museum Management switched to an entirely online format, with three courses that fostered spaces for collective reflection and discussion between more than 150 professionals from Latin America and the world.

Reimagining the Museum. Third Edition. Oaxaca, Mexico. November 2019.

 

After a first edition in Buenos Aires in 2015 and a second one in Medellin in 2017, Reimagining the Museum had its third edition in Oaxaca, the most biodiverse state in Mexico, from November 20 to 22, 2019.

Workshop on Museums and Community Engagement for the Redesign of the Museo Mario Brozoski

 

For two years, Fundación TyPA, together with Fundación Banco de Santa Cruz, professionals from the province and local allies, worked on the development of a new exhibition for the Museo Mario Brozoski of underwater archeology.

There, he participated in lectures, business meetings and exclusive visits to various museums; generated new contacts and strengthened ties with international colleagues who work closely with TyPA activities.

TyPA Foundation, with the National History Museum, organized the reflection meeting, concepts' analysis and exhibition design workshop, VISIBLE / INVISIBLE, about representations of Afro-argentinian culture in museums. Coordinated by Américo Castilla (TyPA Foundation President) and Jose Antonio Perez Gollan (Director of the National Historical Museum).

This program offered workshops on new investigations and best practices for the conservation of contemporary art. Specialists from the the MoMA, Guggenheim, The Getty Conservation Institute and the Museo Reina Sofia gathered in Buenos Aires to discuss with local museum specialists methods and strategies for conserving contemporary art.
